What you'll learn

  • Read, write, compare, order and round whole numbers up to 4 digits using place value
  • Add and subtract whole numbers and solve everyday word problems, checking answers with inverse operations
  • Multiply and divide with numbers up to the 10-times table, including sharing with remainders
  • Name and compare common fractions, find equivalent fractions, and read tenths as decimals
  • Measure with sensible units, tell the time, identify 2D shapes and their symmetry, and read tallies and pictographs

Before you start

  • Count, read and write whole numbers up to at least 3 digits
  • Recall addition and subtraction number facts up to 20
  • Recognise South African coins and banknotes
