What you'll learn

  • Use whole numbers, integers, factors, multiples, fractions, decimals, percentages, ratios and rates accurately in meaningful problems.
  • Recognise patterns, use input-output rules, simplify simple expressions and solve one-step equations by inverse operations.
  • Reason with angles, shapes, measurement, coordinates and transformations; calculate perimeter, area, surface area and volume with units.
  • Collect, represent, interpret and summarise data, and reason about chance using simple experiments.
  • Prepare for assessments by showing a method, checking units and choosing a model before calculating.

Before you start

  • Grade 6 number sense: fluent addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of whole numbers
  • Basic fractions and decimals: reading them, simplifying simple fractions, and place value to hundredths
